🔌 Keeping Your Technology Safe During a Power Outage

Hi Coastal Community,

With many of us experiencing power issues at the moment, here are a few simple things you can do to help keep your computers and other technology safe.

  • Power off your computers if you’re experiencing outages or unstable power.
  • Unplug computers and other sensitive electronics from the wall where practical.
  • Use surge protection for your computers and other valuable electronics. A good surge protector can provide an extra layer of protection when the power comes back on.
  • Use portable chargers or power banks for phones and other essential devices if needed.

If the power is going on and off, it’s often better to leave sensitive equipment switched off until the power supply is stable again.

Most importantly, please stay safe. Your technology can be replaced — you can’t!

RD3 Tech wishes everyone in our community all the best while dealing with these power issues. I hope everyone stays safe and gets their power back soon.

If you’d like a consultation about your family’s IT needs, or you’re not sure how best to protect your computers, data and other technology, get in touch. I’m happy to help.
