RD3 Tech – Helping Northland stay connected.

Today has been a challenging day for internet connectivity!

🌐 Internet Issues Along the Coast?

Today has been a challenging day for internet connectivity for some of us on the coast.

If you’re experiencing connection problems, there are a couple of simple things you can try before calling for help.

🔄 Reboot your router

If you haven’t already, try turning your router off, waiting around 30 seconds, and then turning it back on. Give it a few minutes to reconnect once it has restarted.

This simple step can sometimes restore your connection after a network interruption or connection issue.

📱 Still having problems?

Check whether the problem is affecting all of your devices or just one. If everything in the house is offline, the issue may be with your internet connection or provider rather than your individual device.

If you’ve tried restarting your router and you’re still having trouble, don’t keep pulling your hair out! 😅 Sometimes the problem is outside your home and needs to be investigated by your internet provider.

Hopefully things settle down soon and everyone gets back online.

Running a small business or community group?

Technology Should Make Life Easier, Not More Complicated.

I’m Tom from RD3 Tech, and I work with local businesses, community groups, organisations, and individuals across Northland to make technology simpler, more reliable, and less stressful.

Whether you’re just getting started, upgrading your technology, trying to untangle a setup that’s become a bit of a mess, or simply trying to understand what you actually need, I’m here to help.

Technology can be confusing. There are always new computers, software, cloud services, security threats, subscriptions, and updates to think about. Sometimes it’s difficult to know what you actually need, what you can safely ignore, or why something that worked perfectly yesterday has suddenly stopped working.

That’s where RD3 Tech comes in.

How RD3 Tech Can Help

For businesses and community organisations, I can also help with the technology behind the scenes, including:

  • 🌐 Professional WordPress websites that work well across computers, tablets, and phones
  • ☁️ Google Workspace setup for email, calendars, shared drives, and collaboration
  • 📧 Professional email using your own domain name
  • 💾 NAS and backup solutions to help protect important business and organisational data
  • 🌐 Network and Wi-Fi setup to keep devices connected and working reliably
  • 🖥️ Computer and device setup, including new equipment, data transfers, and migrations
  • 🧹 Technology cleanups to sort out old devices, accounts, software, and networks
  • 🧠 IT advice and consulting to help you make sensible technology decisions without unnecessary spending

My approach is simple: clear, practical solutions without the jargon or the pressure. I don’t believe in upgrading technology simply for the sake of upgrading it, or recommending something you don’t actually need.

The goal is to understand how you actually work and then recommend technology that supports you, rather than making things more complicated.

Based on the Tutukaka Coast and working with clients across Northland, RD3 Tech provides a local, approachable alternative to dealing with a large, impersonal IT company.

Whether you’re looking for a quick tip, trying to solve a frustrating technology problem, planning a major upgrade, or simply want someone to help you make sense of it all, you’ll find practical information here.

No jargon. No unnecessary upgrades. No pressure to buy something you don’t need.

Just practical technology advice from RD3 Tech to help you understand your technology, avoid common problems, and get more out of the systems you already use.
